The Hampton Roads Convention Center is not only easy to reach, there is plenty to do within a comfortable walk, or within a ten-minute drive.  Family members who join meeting delegates can enjoy more than 100 world-class attractions within thirty miles of the Hampton Roads Convention Center and Hampton hotels. 

Hampton's central location in the Hampton Roads region places delegates within close  proximitiy to the cities of Williamsburg, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and Newport News.  There are lots of entertaining opportunities that are worth tacking a day or two onto a visit so the entire family can enjoy them together. 

Plus, there are unique venues for ice-breaker receptions and private parties throughout Hampton and our surrounding region.  The Virginia Air & Space Center, The American Theatre, Hampton History Museum, Hampton University Museum, and Peninsula Town Center are just a few!  Hampton parks, such as Buckroe Beach, Mill Point Park, Carousel Park, and Gosnold's Hope Park are gorgeous settings for twilight waterfront gatherings. 

Coliseum Central shopping district is home to Peninsula Town Center, the Power Plant of Hampton Roads, Hampton Coliseum and- of course!-the Hampton Roads Convention Center. The district is home to hundreds of shops, restaurants and attractions and a cluster of hotels at a variety of price points.  These nearby facilities offer conventioneers a variety of cuisine, shopping and fun things to do in their down time without having to travel far.

Downtown Hampton's waterfront is home to several exciting attractions, including the Virginia Air & Space Center, Riverside IMAX Theater, Hampton Carousel, Hampton History Museum, Historic St. John's Church, Hampton University campus, and art galleries and shopping galore!  Hop aboard the Miss Hampton II for a tour of Hampton Roads' waterways or reserve a seat, rod and reel aboard the Ocean Eagle!  Between harbor tours, fishing charters, Buckroe Beach, and Buckroe Pier, and Hampton parks,  there's truly no end to the water recreation available!
